Comment: Based on pedological observations, two chronological phases can be distinguised. Oldest phase: single ditched barrow (=inner ditch). Second phase: a new, larger ditch was dug. The first ditch was filled in with sods of grass, and covered by the new, larger mound. 14C dates; probably be associated with respectively the presence of Roman graves next to the monument and Neolithic occupation on the site
